Harsh Vardhan to Hold a Covid-19 Review Meeting with State Health Ministers on Saturday | India News


NEW DELHI: Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on Friday that he will hold a meeting with health ministers from various state governments on Saturday and hold a virtual meeting with all AIIMS hospitals across the country Monday to discuss upgrading the Covid facilities.
“Tomorrow I will have a meeting with the health ministers of the states with a maximum number of Covid-19 cases in the country. On Monday, we will hold a virtual meeting with all the hospitals of the Indian Institution of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the whole country to discuss the intensification of the facilities, “he said in Delhi.
He also said that according to the latest data, 54 districts and 44 districts of the country have not reported any new cases of coronavirus in the last seven days and the last 28 days, respectively.
“We have decided to add 70 more beds at the AIIMS Trauma Center and 100 more beds at the National Cancer Institute, Jhajjar. I am confident that we will be able to overcome the challenges before us due to the increase in Covid-19 cases now,” said the Union minister.
He also assured that he will take strict measures against those involved in the black marketing of the drug Remdesivir and other bad practices.
“The companies that make the drug for the coronavirus Remdesivir have been asked to increase production. I assure you that strict measures will be taken against those involved in the black marketing of the drug and other bad practices,” he further said.
The Union minister visited the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Friday. The director of AIIMS, Dr. Randeep Guleria, and other doctors from the hospital were present during his visit.
