TIRUPATI: India’s appointed Chief Justice NV Ramana offered prayers at Lord Venkateswara’s ancient shrine on the hill near Tirumala on Sunday, a temple official said.
The highest-ranking Supreme Court Justice Justice Ramana, who was recently appointed as the 48th CJI effective April 24, after an overnight stop in the hills, visited the shrine on Sunday morning and paid homage to Lord Venkateswara’s presiding deity, the temple. the official said.
He spent about an hour in the temple, the official added.
A fervent devotee of Lord Venkateswara, Judge Ramana, born into an agricultural family in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, arrived here on Saturday with his wife Sivamala.
After the worship, he was honored by presenting a sacred silk cloth, a portrait of Lord Venkateswara, and prasadam by the chairman of the TTD board, YV Subba Reddy, and CEO KS Jawahar Reddy.
