On-site registration for healthcare, frontline workers will only be available at government CVCs: Center | India News

NEW DELHI: The Center has said that on-site registration for Covid-19 inoculation for healthcare and frontline workers ages 18-44 will now only be available at government Covid vaccination centers.
They will have to present original photo identity cards and a copy of their employment certificate, he said.
In a statement to the states and territories of the Union (UT) on Monday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the registration facility in place for health workers (TS) and health workers Genuine leftover first line (PDA) will only be available at government Covid vaccination centers (CVC). ).
On Saturday, the Center had communicated to the states and UT that a new TS and PDA registration would not be allowed with immediate effect, as some ineligible recipients were getting their names listed and vaccinated under this category in violation of the guidelines.
Bhushan said: “Please see my letter dated April 3, 2021, video that, in view of the vaccination of ineligible beneficiaries on behalf of TS or PDA in some CVCs, in complete violation of prescribed guidelines, the NEGVAC’s decision that no new registrations will be allowed in the categories of health workers and PDA, has been communicated. ”
“Continuing with said guidance, the following additional instructions are issued for the vaccination of healthcare workers or PDAs, aged between 18 and 44: from now on, on-site registration facilities for healthcare workers or PDAs that are really left over will be available only in the government CVCs. ” he said.
The government established NEGVAC or the National Covid-19 Vaccine Administration Expert Group to provide guidance on all aspects of Covid-19 vaccination.
Bhushan said that for registration on the site, it will be mandatory for health workers and female domestic workers to present their identity card with original photo and a copy of their employment certificate.
The letter stated that the employer will be responsible for ensuring that the certificate is issued only to eligible healthcare workers and domestic workers.
“The employer and the HCW or FLW in question will be personally responsible for the accuracy of the information in the employment certificate. It will be mandatory for the verifier to enter the employment certificate in the CoWIN system prior to the registration of the HCW or FLW,” he said.
The site verifier or administrator will be responsible for uploading the employment certificate along with the necessary details in the Co-WIN application, according to the letter.
The application is a platform for citizens to register for the Covid-19 vaccination and schedule their vaccination spaces in the closest vaccination centers.
Bhushan in his letter to the states and UT also said that various contributions have been received from different sources that in some CVCs, some ineligible beneficiaries are being registered as TS and PDA, and are being vaccinated in total violation of prescribed guidelines.
“This issue was discussed with state representatives and domain knowledge experts at today’s NEGVAC meeting, and in accordance with NEGVAC’s recommendation, it was decided that no new registrations will be allowed in HCW and PDA categories with immediate effect. Registrations of those 45 and older will continue to be allowed on the CoWIN portal, “he said in the letter.
The nationwide vaccination campaign was launched on January 16 with the vaccination of healthcare workers and the vaccination of PDAs starting on February 2.
The next phase of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign began on March 1 for people 60 and older and for people 45 and older with comorbid conditions.
India launched vaccination for all people over the age of 45 as of April 1.
