On November 23 last year, the Munchingput police (Rural Visakhapatnam in AP) had intercepted a Pangi Naganna who was traveling on his bicycle to Basuput. He had been accused of working for the Andhra-Odisha border special Maoist zonal committee.
When questioned, Naganna reportedly confessed that he had been working as a journalist and relaying information about the police movement to the Maoists.
