Kabul Welcomes India-Pakistan Peace Proposals | India News


NEW DELHI: Afghanistan has welcomed the recent peace proposals between India and Pakistan, Kabul believes that a peaceful neighborhood will bode well for the stability and prosperity of Afghanistan.
Speaking to ANI, Afghanistan’s envoy to India, Farid Mamundzay said: “70% of Afghanistan’s trade with Pakistan is through the Wagah Attari border. If India-Pakistan relations are good, they will benefit Pakistan. Afghanistan and the region, we can cooperate on projects such as TAPI gas oil pipeline, Chahbahar port, and it will bring economic prosperity to the region. ”
“We want a peaceful neighborhood where there is prosperity and tranquility. No one benefits from insecurity and instability. We welcome developments that have a greater and positive impact on the security of the region as a whole,” he added.
Recently, the Indian and Pakistani armies reinforced the ceasefire followed by talks on the Indus water treaty in New Delhi.
Letters were also exchanged between the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and his Pakistani counterpart, Imran Khan. First, Modi wrote a letter greeting Khan on Pakistan’s National Day, now he responded with proposals for results-oriented talks.
