Sex CD case: Jarkiholi grilled for 4 hours, his statement taken | India News

BENGALURU: Detectives from the Special Investigation Team investigating the alleged sex-for-work scandal on Monday interrogated former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi for more than four hours.
Jarkiholi and his defenders entered the Madiwala Forensic Science Laboratory facility in a van around 10 a.m. Leaving his defenders behind in the vehicle, Jarkiholi entered the wing’s technical room.
After interacting with detectives, Jarkiholi left around 1.30pm.
A letter from the woman who allegedly appears in a video related to the scandal addressed to the Chief Justice of Karnataka has gone viral on social media. “Request to supervise the investigation of the matter personally and order the state government to protect me and do me justice,” the letter said.
The veracity of the letter could not be determined.
A large contingent of police officers was deployed in front of the magistrates court, Nrupatunga Road, on Monday when the woman’s lawyer, KN Jagadish, had announced that he would take her to court to make a statement. However, the woman did not appear.
Following rumors that the woman might appear before a judge’s residence in Koramangala, a group of journalists and police rushed there.
Addressing the media, Jagadish said: “We have approached the court, asking permission to present the woman before the judge to testify. We will bring her here soon.”
The woman’s family blames DKS:
Relatives of the woman at the center of the sex CD case, which allegedly involves former BJP minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, claimed on Monday that she was acting under pressure from the president of the state Congress, DK Shivakumar. They sought the help of Prime Minister BS Yediyurappa and Interior Minister Basavaraj Bommai to find her and urged the courts not to record her statement because she was under duress.
