Increase in new cases of Covid-19, India registers 62,258 new infections | India News


NEW DELHI: India recorded 62,258 new coronavirus infections in one day, the highest increase in a single day so far this year, bringing the national Covid-19 count to 1,19,08,910, according to Ministry data Health of the Union updated on Saturday. The number of people who have recovered from the disease increased to 1,12,95,023, while the case fatality rate dropped further to 1.35%, according to the data.
India’s Covid-19 count had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.
It went from 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and surpassed the one crore mark on December 19.
According to ICMR, 23,97,69,553 samples have been analyzed as of March 26 and 11,64,915 samples have been analyzed on Friday. PLB RHL
