Covid-19: Case doubling time decreases from 504.4 days to 202.3 days | India News

NEW DELHI: With a rapid increase in Covid-19 cases, the doubling time has decreased steadily to 202.3 on March 22, less than half of the 504.4 days on March 1, data shows officers.
However, the rising numbers are largely driven by three states, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Punjab, which account for 75.15% of total active cases, while Maharashtra only accounts for 62.71% of total 3.45 lakh of active cases nationwide.
Active cases increased by 10,731 cases on Monday, compared to a day ago.
Ten states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan are showing an upward trajectory in daily new cases since early March.
Six states of Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu together accounted for 80.90% of the 40,715 new cases reported on Monday.
