Shah will likely hold a rally in Nandigram next week | India News

KOLKATA / NANDIGRAM: Bengal BJP leaders have asked Union Interior Minister Amit Shah to hold a public meeting in Nandigram before the constituency goes to the polls on April 1.
Shah is scheduled to visit the state on March 15-19. Additionally, actor Mithun Chakraborty is likely to tour in support of BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari.
The Bengal BJP is keen to put this hot seat back into its electoral narrative, leaving behind the Nandigram incident that has diverted the party’s public attention to what happened to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the past 24 hours.
Suvendu took advantage of the occasion of Shivaratri on Thursday and visited several temples in Reyapara, where Mamata had planned to spend the night on Wednesday, and also Sonachura, Parulbari and the Shiva Amgechhia temple, located on the boundary of Nandigram Blocks I and II. Suvendu did not say a word about Mamata’s leg injury, making it clear that he was not getting into the controversy. Instead, he spent the day in Nandigram going into Reyapara’s houses to talk to the residents.
