Ravneet Bittu To Take Over As Congressional Leader In Lok Sabha Temporarily | India News

NEW DELHI: Ludhiana Congressional MP Ravneet Singh Bittu would serve as the congressional party leader in Lok Sabha for the remaining part of Parliament’s budget session, sources said Thursday.
The head of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, on Thursday entrusted the responsibility to Bittu, who is already the party’s whip in the lower house of Parliament.
The change came when Lok Sabha Congressional leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury would be busy in the West Bengal assembly elections that will start on March 27. Chowdhury is also the chairman of the West Bengal unit of Congress.
Bittu, the three-time parliamentarian from Ludhiana, will play the role of congressional leader for the current budget session of parliament.
The deputy leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi is also busy campaigning in Assam.
Congress has been stalling both houses of Parliament since the beginning of the second part of the budget session on March 8, demanding a discussion on the increase in fuel prices and on the issue and the demands of farmers.
