Lok Sabha adjourned session for one day as opposition protests rising fuel prices | India News

NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha was suspended for the day as opposition members continued their protest over rising fuel prices on Monday.
When the House met again at 7 pm after a suspension, the President allowed the issue of women’s empowerment to be debated on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The discussion continued for about 20 minutes amid continued protests from opposition members.
Branch Devi of the BJP, who was in the chair, appealed to members protesting multiple times to let the Chamber work so that female members could raise their issues on International Women’s Day.
However, the Opposition did not give in, which led the presidency to adjourn the House session for the day of meeting on Tuesday at 11 am.
Previously, the Chamber was suspended twice.
