Gamucha, shawl, painting: PM Modi buys entrepreneurial women on International Women’s Day | India News


NEW DELHI: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bought a ‘gamucha’ from Assam, a Nagaland shawl, a Gond Paper Painting handmade by Self Help Groups and women entrepreneurs.
Sharing the products PM purchased from female entrepreneurs, she said the purchased products “celebrate female initiative, creativity and Indian culture.”
Women are playing a leading role in India’s quest to become ‘aatmanirbhar’, she tweeted, urging people to commit to fostering entrepreneurship among women.

Hours earlier, Prime Minister Modi greeted the women on the occasion of International Women’s Day and said that India is proud of its many achievements. Prime Minister Modi said it was an honor for our government to work to promote the empowerment of women in the country in a wide range of sectors.
