Second Major Focus is Education After Health Reforms, Says Prime Minister Modi | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday stressed the need to reform the education sector including skills development, research and innovation for a “self-sufficient India”.
“To build Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the youth of the country need self-confidence that is directly related to their education, knowledge and skills. The new National Education Policy has been developed with this key thought,” he said while addressing a webinar. on the implementation of the Union Budget 2021 in the education sector.
“The second biggest focus after health in this year’s budget is education, skills, research and innovation,” Prime Minister Modi said.
Referring to the measures taken by the central government during this year’s budget for the education sector, he said: “To build an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, it is important that young people have self-confidence. Self-confidence comes when young people have faith in their education, skills and knowledge. ”
The prime minister also stressed the need to use the talents of anyone in India, saying that “it is very important to get out of the language barrier to make it possible.”
The Prime Minister had discussed the impact of educational policies, research activities and skills development efforts undertaken by the government and educational institutions in the scheme of the center called ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’.
