India Delivers Indian-Made Covid-19 Vaccines to Angola | India News


LUANDA (ANGOLA): A shipment of vaccines manufactured in India was delivered to Angola on Tuesday under the ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said.
Jaishankar tweeted: “Landed in Luanda. Vaccines made in India delivered to Angola today. #VaccineMaitri.”
Angola has reported 20,854 Covid-19 cases and 508 deaths so far, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Earlier, Jaishankar had said that India has been “very” at the forefront of the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and is providing vaccines to the world under the initiatives of ‘Vaccine Maitri’.
More than twenty-five countries around the world have already received Made-in-India vaccines and in the coming days 49 more countries will be supplied, from Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean to Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, he had said. .
