Srinagar Restaurant Owner’s Son Succumbs to Wounds 11 Days After Being Shot | India News

SRINAGAR: Akash Kumar Mehra, the 25-year-old son of the owner of a famous vegetarian restaurant in the Durganag town of Dalgate, succumbed to his injuries 11 days after the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists shot him.
Mehra, the son of Ramesh Kumar, was shot by one of the three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists on the night of February 17. He suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. He was immediately transferred to the SMHS hospital where he was treated until Sunday morning.
Akash was hooked up to the ventilator a few days ago, doctors at the hospital said.
Mehra’s father, Ramesh, had run his vegetarian restaurant since 1993 in the Dalgate and over a period of time it gained fame among tourists and locals.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) rank of Kashmir Vijay Kumar on February 19, 2021 at a press conference in Srinagar he had said that three terrorists were arrested for carrying out the attack on Akash Mehra.
He said the bicycle and pistol used in the trio’s attack have been seized and that the terrorists have confessed to the crime.
He identified the attackers as Suhail Ahmad Mir and Owais Manzoor Sofi, both residents of Dangarpora in Anantnag, while the third was identified as Vilayat Aziz Mir from Wampora in Pulwama district.
