Crowdfunding brings Rs 2,100cr to Ram Mandir’s coffers | India News

Ayodhya: The Shri RAM Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust coffers overflowed with Rs 2,100 crore on Saturday night, the last day of the 44-day fundraising campaign launched by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for the construction of a large temple in Ayodhya.
Before the launch of the crowdfunding campaign on January 15, the Trust had projected an estimate of 1.1 billion rupees for the construction of the Ram temple complex. But an overwhelming response from the public gave the project a head start, as the Trust received Rs 1 billion more than estimated.
Teerth Kshetra Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said: “The fundraising campaign has ended with generous contributions from different sectors of people, including residents of remote villages in India, blurring religious barriers. The total donations received exceeded 2.1 billion rupees on Saturday night. ”
Giri had set the cost of building the temple at Rs 300-Rs 400 crore, while making an estimate of Rs 1,100 crore to build the entire complex in Ramjanmabhoomi.
