MHA Extends Covid-19 Guidelines Until End of March | India News

NEW DELHI: On Friday, the Home Office extended the validity of existing guidelines for surveillance, containment and precaution against Covid-19 until March 31.
In a statement, the MHA said that while there has been a substantial decrease in active and new Covid cases, vigilance, containment and caution are necessary to overcome the pandemic.
States have also been advised to speed up vaccination of the target population to break the chain of transmission.
This came even as Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla said in a tweet that he had met with Amit Shah on Friday to brief him on the launch of the vaccine.
The MHA statement read: “Consequently, containment zones continue to be carefully demarcated; prescribed containment measures strictly followed within these zones; Appropriate Covid behavior is promoted and strictly enforced; and the prescribed standard operating procedures with respect to the various permitted activities scrupulously followed. ”
Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, in a letter to all state administrations sent on Friday, said that all activities have been permitted, subject to the SOPs issued by the respective administrative ministries / departments, as well as the SOPs that will be issued by the state.
