Canada to buy 2 million doses of IBS vaccine | India News

NEW DELHI: After Canada approved AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine, 500,000 doses of the same Indian-made vaccine will arrive in Canada on Wednesday. Canadian authorities also signed a trade agreement with the Serum Institute of India for the supply of 2 million doses of it, government officials said.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed appreciation for India’s support and partnership in ensuring prompt delivery of vaccines. “I want to express my appreciation for the support and partnership of the Indian government in the fight against Covid-19, to help ensure that Canadians do it,” Trudeau said.
The handover will take place within 3 weeks of the conversation that took place between Trudeau and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the subject of vaccines.
