Former Haryana Congress Chief Launches New Party | India News

NEW DELHI: Former Haryana Congress Chief Ashok Tanwar launched a new political party ‘Apna Bharat Morcha’ in the national capital on Thursday.
The launch event, held at the Constitution Club, was attended by dozens of young people and supporters of Tanwar, including the former head of the Tripura Congress, Kirit Pradyut Deb Barman.
“The Apna Bharat Morcha is a values-driven initiative, which will work with a three-pillar approach of dialogue, debate and discussion to add not only verve to the Indian spirit of unity in diversity, but will also lay the foundation to make our country the true land of hope and fulfillment, “Tanwar said during the event.
Tanwar, who was a Sirsa deputy in Lok Sabha during 2009-14, had resigned from Congress days before the Haryana assembly elections in October 2019.
He had rebelled against the party leadership alleging irregularities and corruption in the distribution of tickets and even protested in front of the 10 Janpath residence of the head of Congress.
He was replaced by Kumari Selja as head of the state party, while Tanwar’s bete noire and former prime minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda became the leader of the Congress legislative party.
On the need to launch a new political front, the 44-year-old president said a platform was needed to “crystallize positive energies” and “fulfill the aspirations” of the nation’s youth.
“Apna Bharat Morcha will be an agent of positive change and a platform to give voice to those who have no voice. It will be a dynamic, values-based platform to consolidate diverse voices and perspectives, which are neglected by the main political parties. It is a Movement against the tyranny of the ideological vacuum and the apathy of the current leadership ”, he added.
