The government will have to withdraw the farm laws, even the British could not stand up to the farmers: Rahul | India News

JAIPUR: The leader of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, said on Friday that even the British could not stand up to the farmers of India, which is then Narendra Modi. The Center will have to withdraw its agricultural laws, he added.
At his second farmers’ rally on Friday, Gandhi said that 40 percent of the country’s population is engaged in agriculture, which is the business of “Bharat Mata.”
“It is the business of ‘Bharat Mata’ that feeds the nation,” he said at the rally held in the city of Padampur in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan.
He said the agitation against the laws will spread in the country, as it is not linked only to farmers. It is the issue of workers, merchants, small and medium entrepreneurs and the middle class, he said.
