A new session begins on April 1: CBSE to schools | India News

NEW DELHI: The CBSE has recommended that the new academic session begin on April 1 “to the extent possible, subject to the instructions of the respective state governments.” The board has directed schools to identify and resolve learning gaps and then take Class IX and XI exams following Covid security protocols.
Schools had closed last March when the pandemic struck. Some of them partially reopened in some states as of October. However, schools in most other states remain closed.
“During exams / classes, Covid security protocols must be strictly followed. It would be convenient to start the academic session 2021-2022 from April 1 “to the extent possible subject to the instructions of the state government.” Schools are asked to follow the suggestions to simplify the next session and ensure that learning gaps, if any, are addressed, ”said Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE test controller, in a letter to school principals.
“For Classes IX and XI, schools must take steps to identify and remedy learning gaps and subsequently take exams in strict accordance with Covid security protocols as per exam statutes. This exam will also help identify learning gaps that schools could address in a new academic session, at the beginning of classes, by having a specially designed bridge course to address learning gaps, “said Bhardwaj.
“Schools have been opened in most states and with the improvement of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, schools are expected to open in other states and UT. Schools must be fully prepared and prepared to receive students in face-to-face classes. This will help students to attend schools to complete their practices ”, added the controller.
CBSE had announced the class X and XII board exam schedule earlier this month.
“The board has made the decision to reschedule class X and XII exams from May to June, due to the unprecedented situation that arises due to the pandemic. As a result, several schools have been seeking advice from CBSE regarding the exams for classes IX and XI and about the start of the new academic session, ”he said.
