INDORE: Although the Indore civic body’s act of throwing homeless elderly people out of the city has caused widespread outrage, the incident has also led to the reunion of a woman with her missing husband.
On January 29, Pushpa Salvi received a call from an unknown number. The caller told her that her husband was found among the homeless who were taken out of town last Friday.
Anil Salvi (50), who suffers mental health problems, he left his home in the city last month. Pushpa, after being unable to find him, had filed a missing person’s complaint with the police.
Last week, someone recognized her husband in the pictures of some homeless people who were expelled from the city. “On January 29, I got a call from a person who found my husband and I took a taxi to go there,” she said Tuesday. “My husband was in bed with other older people,” she said. Pushpa said she first took her husband to a hospital where doctors gave him medicine, and then she took him home.
