NEW DELHI: Amid the stalemate between the central government and farmers protesting recently enacted farm laws, the General Secretary of the Indian Congress Committee (AICC), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday whether is in a war with farmers. .
“Honorable Prime Minister, are you at war with your farmers?” tweeted Vadra in Hindi. He also shared a video featuring a large deployment of security personnel at the Delhi borders.

Meanwhile, the former president of Congress and member of the party’s parliament, Rahul Gandhi, advised the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party to “build bridges and not walls.”
“GOI, build bridges, not walls!” Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Tuesday.
These comments came after the administrations deployed a heavy deployment of security personnel and barricades on the borders of the national capital to maintain public order.
Security has been tightened at the Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri borders, as farmers continue their way to the protest site for the past two to three days.
The Delhi police have blocked roads near Akshardham and the movement of vehicles between Delhi and Ghaziabad on National Highway 24 has been restricted.
Farmers have been protesting on the different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three recently enacted agricultural laws: Trade in Agricultural Products and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Agreement on the Empowerment and Protection of Farmers) on Price Guarantee and the Agricultural Services Act 2020 and the Commodity (Amendment) Act 2020.
