Interior Minister Amit Shah postpones visit to Bengal | India News

NEW DELH: Interior Minister Amit Shah postponed his visit to West Bengal.
Sources did not give the reason for the postponement of his trip during which he was to address two rallies on Saturday and Sunday, but it comes as farmers have intensified their protests against three farm laws amid incidents of clashes with “locals” in some places.
Shah was to attend various programs as the BJP intensifies its campaign in the state where elections for the assembly are expected to be held in April-May.
He was scheduled to begin his state tour from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple, and then address the Matua community at a public rally on the Thakurbari grounds in the North 24 Parganas district, according to BJP officials.
On the second day of his visit, January 31, the Interior Minister was scheduled to visit Sri Aurobindo Bhawan in Calcutta and then Bharat Sevashram Sangha.
He was also scheduled to address a public meeting at Dumurjola in Howrah and visit Belur Math.
