Farmers to Celebrate ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ on January 30 and Fast All Day | India News

NEW DELHI: Farmers protesting against the Center’s new farm laws will observe ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ on the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s death on January 30 and hold a one-day fast, farm union leaders said on Friday.
At a press conference on the Singhu border of Delhi, farmer leaders said the fast will take place from 9 am to 5 pm and called on the country’s people to join them.
Peasant leaders also criticized the ruling BJP in the Center, accusing him of trying to “destroy” the “peaceful” agitation against agricultural laws.
“The conspiracy of the ruling BJP to destroy this peasant movement is now exposed to everyone,” he said.
Peasant leaders also claimed that the number of rioters in all prominent protest sites – Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri – is increasing after police allegedly tried to remove peasant leader Rakesh Tikait from the Ghazipur border on Thursday night.
