Pak returns the Poonch woman after 4 months | India News

JAMMU: A Poonch woman, who had inadvertently crossed into Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK) about four months ago, was turned over to Indian authorities on Thursday.
Confirming the woman’s repatriation, Poonch SSP Romesh Angral said: “The PoK authorities have returned a woman, Zareena Bi (36), a resident of Chela Dangri de Mandi in Poonch district, who had crossed over to the other side. “The SSP said the woman was received from this side at Chakkan-Da-Bagh in Poonch after four months of her crossing. Legal formalities continue, he added.
Previously, as a gesture of goodwill, the Indian and Pakistani parties had repatriated two young men who had inadvertently crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in December 2020 in the Poonch sector to their respective territories on January 8.
With the support of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the civil administration, Ali Haider, a 14-year-old boy from PoK’s Mirpur, was repatriated through the Poonch-Rawalakot crossing, while the Pakistani authorities also handed over Mohammed Bashir, who it had been in his custody since December 24.
Prior to this, two minor girls from the Kahuta area of ​​PoK, who had inadvertently crossed over to this side of the LoC on December 6, 2020, were handed over to the Pakistani authorities at Chakkan-da-Bagh in Poonch on December 7 . like Laiba Zabair, 17, and Sana Zabair, 13, residents of Abbasspur village in PoK’s Kahuta tehsil, these sisters had drifted to the Indian side from the Mendhar sector in Poonch.
