Delhi Police Issue Watch Advisory (LOC) Against Farm Leaders For R-Day Violence News From India

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Thursday issued a Watch Notice (LOC) against agricultural leaders who have been appointed to the FIR in connection with violence during the Republic Day tractor rally.
Sources say the Interior Ministry also ordered the Delhi Police to ask the accused farmer leaders to present their passports to prevent them from leaving the country. Leaders have been asked to respond within three days.
“Delhi Police FIR mentions the names of agricultural leaders Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil and Joginder Singh Ugraha for non-compliance with the NOC issued regarding the agricultural tractor rally. FIR also mentions the name from BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, “Delhi police said in a statement on Wednesday.
The FIR charges them for non-compliance with the Certificate of No Objection (NOC) issued with respect to the rally.
Up to 25 FIRs and 37 peasant leaders appointed by the Delhi Police have come forward in connection with the violence in which more than 300 policemen were injured.
On Wednesday, Delhi Police alleged that the farmer agitators violated predetermined conditions for the tractor rally on January 26 and fueled violence that they said left 394 of their staff injured. Police have warned that no culprit will be spared.
