16 heads of state and government expressed their solidarity with India on R-Day | India News


NEW DELHI: Up to 16 heads of state / government and 11 foreign ministers sent their best wishes to India on the occasion of Republic Day, according to official sources. Many other foreign ministries also officially expressed their solidarity with the government and people of India.
In Brazil, President JM Bolsonaro himself participated in the celebrations of the Republic Day of the Indian embassy. It is rare for a president or prime minister to attend national day events. Conveying his best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the president said that Brazil and India had done so.

While British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was unable to come due to the Covid situation in his country, he said in a message that he hoped to “visit India later this year, strengthen our friendship and strive to make a quantum leap in our relationship that Prime Minister Modi and I are committed to achieving. ”
