Delhi Police Give Formal Permission for Kisan Tractor Rally on Jan 26: Yogendra Yadav | India News

NEW DELHI: Delhi police have formally given permission for the protest farm tractor rally, the Kisan Tractor Rally, to take place on January 26, Yogendra Yadav, head of Swaraj India, said on Sunday.
While speaking to the media, Yadav said this comes after a brief meeting with Delhi police officers.
“Today there was a short meeting with the Delhi police officers. We have a formal permit from the police for the tractor rally. As I said earlier, the ‘Kisan Gantantra Parade’ will take place on January 26 in a peaceful manner. “Yadav told the media.
He also appealed to farmers to bring their tractors to Delhi and asked them not to bring carts.
Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava said in a statement that all officers and men, as well as CAPF and other forces deployed for the security of the Republic Day Parade, must remain in a ready position to move with little advance notice for a law enforcement agreement regarding the Kisan tractor. meeting.
Farmers from across the country are marching to Delhi to participate in the scheduled rally. Tractors from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have reached the Tikri border as farmers protested for almost two months.
The eleventh round of talks between farmers and the government took place on Friday.
Talks between farmers’ unions and the government have apparently broken down after the former insisted on its demand for repeal of three new farm laws and the latter asked them to reconsider their offer to suspend these laws for about 18 months.
Farmers have been protesting on the different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three recently enacted agricultural laws: the Trade in Agricultural Products and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Act of 2020; the 2020 Farmers’ Empowerment and Protection Agreement on Agricultural Price Guarantee and Services and the Essential Products (Amendment) Act 2020.
