Around 100 students from schools and universities to watch the Republic Day parade from the PM box | India News

NEW DELHI: At least 100 deserving students from schools and universities will have the opportunity to watch the Republic Day parade from the Prime Minister’s box on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Education. Students will also be able to interact with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ after the parade.
“Happy to share that deserving students from across the country will have the opportunity to witness the # RepublicDay2021 parade from the prime minister’s box. They will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with the minister of education, the Government of India Shri @DrRPNishank” the Ministry of Education tweeted.

According to a ministry official, 100 students have been shortlisted for this purpose: 50 from schools and 50 from higher education institutions.
Last year, a total of 105 toppers from CBSE and universities across the country had the opportunity to watch the 71st Republic Day Parade from the prime minister’s box.
Due to Covid-19 safety regulations, this year will be missing the gravity-defying stunts by men on motorcycles, a major crowd draw during the Republic Day celebrations on the Rajpath, while the Viewer size has also dropped to 25,000, officials. he had said Friday.
Additionally, the parade of honorees and children who have won awards for bravery will also not be present at the 72nd Republic Day event, due to social distancing, they said.

This year, the number of participants in Republic Day cultural programs has been reduced from more than 600 to just 401 this year, to avoid overcrowding and follow social distancing rules in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
