‘Dawai bhi, kadaai (caution) bhi’ should be our mantra for 2021, says Prime Minister Modi | India News


NEW DELHI: On New Years Eve, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the doctors, health warriors, sanitation workers, pharmacists and other frontline workers involved in the fight against coronavirus and urged people to act cautiously next year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that people should not lower their guard and strictly adhere to the preventive rules of the coronavirus even after vaccination.
“Before, I said, ‘Dawai nahi toh dheelai nahi’. Now, I’m saying ‘Dawai bhi aur kadaai (caution) bhi’. Our mantra for the year 2021 is ‘Dawai bhi aur kadaai bhi,'” he said.
Preparations are in the final stages for the country’s Covid-19 vaccination program, Modi said, adding that people will receive doses of the Indian-made vaccine.
“The number of new cases of Covid-19 is declining in the country now. We are preparing to run the largest vaccination program in the world next year,” he added.
The prime minister also paid tribute to lakhs of frontline workers who have sacrificed their lives in the performance of their duties.
“The last day of the year is a time to remember the billions of doctors, health warriors, healthcare personnel, pharmacists, and other front-line workers. I also pay my respect to the people who have sacrificed their lives in the performance of their duties, “the Prime Minister said while speaking at the AIIMS groundbreaking ceremony in Rajkot of Gujarat.

More than 30 billion rupees of the money of the poor has been saved thanks to Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Modi said.
“Jan Ausadhi Kendras is also a friend of the poor during illness. More than 7,000 such kendras across the country provide 90% cheaper medicine to people. More than 3.5 lakhs of poor patients use these kendras at daily, “he said.
“In the last six years we started working on 10 new AIIMS and some of them are operational. Twenty super specialty hospitals are also being built in the country, “Modi added.
201 acres of land have been allocated for the new AIIMS. It will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,195 million and is expected to be completed by mid-2022. The modern 750-bed hospital will also have a 30-bed AAYUSH block. It will have 125 MBBS seats and 60 nursing seats.
“Here (at AIIMS) the world will witness both the experience and expertise of mass immunization. This will provide the world with both a start-up and start-up ecosystem where both technology and health solutions are integrated. “said PM Modi.
