BJP ally RLP withdraws its support for the NDA over agricultural laws | India News

ALWAR / JAIPUR: The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) withdrew its support for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Saturday in support of farmers’ agitation against the Center’s three agricultural laws, the Nagaur deputy announced and Hanuman Beniwal party coordinator.
“No one is more important than the farmers of our country. We will not support anyone who is against him, ”said Beniwal, whose march to Delhi in support of the farmers’ agitation, along with thousands of farmers, was stopped at the Shajahanpur border on Saturday. “The future course of action will be decided after the farmers’ unions meeting with the Center on December 29,” Beniwal said while addressing protesters at the Shahjahanpur border in Alwar.
Beniwal had previously resigned from three parliamentary committees in support of farmers’ agitation against the centre’s agriculture-related laws. He was a member of parliamentary commissions of industries; oil and natural gas; and requests. Beniwal had submitted his resignation to the Lok Sabha president, Om Birla.
RLP is the second BJP ally to withdraw its support for the NDA after Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Previously, Shiv Sena and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had also withdrawn their support for the NDA. Meanwhile, the Haryana police had sealed off the road on the Shahjahanpur border on Friday for vehicles traveling in both directions (Delhi-Jaipur), causing a major traffic jam on the national highway (NH-8).
