‘After BTC Poll, BJP Will Get Majority In Assam Polls’: Amit Shah

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah on Saturday expressed his confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form a government in Assam with a full majority in the 2021 assembly elections. Shah arrived in Assam early Saturday morning, where he was received by Prime Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other BJP leaders.

“The Bodoland poll, won by the NDA, was only a semi-final. The final is the Assam polls ahead. In this poll too, the BJP will have the total majority, ”Amit Shah said while addressing a public demonstration held in Amingaon in the Kamrup district on Saturday.

He said Assam was previously known for its movements and violence, but Prime Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the state Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unified the people of the region with the rest of the country by promoting traditions, culture and heritage.

He further said that there was a time when separatist factions used to give weapons to young people, but now they have joined the mainstream to become part of Assam’s growth engine.
