President, Prime Minister Modi, and ministers pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the 96th anniversary of his birth
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Sadaiv Atal on his 96th birthday on Friday. Union ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Piyush Goyal, were also present at Sadaiv Atal, a monument built near Rashtriya Smriti Sthal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch a book titled ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume’ in Parliament on Friday to honor him on his 96th birthday. Published by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the book focuses on life and works, including notable speeches by the former prime minister. The book also has some rare photographs of the MP from his public life.

The book is scheduled to be released at a function in Parliament’s Central Hall on December 25, which is also observed as Good Governance Day in honor of the Bharat Ratna laureate. He was also conferred with the Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Award for Best MP in 1994.
“As a parliamentarian and particularly as prime minister, Atalji made countless contributions that paved the way for a stronger economy through bold reforms and rapid infrastructure development. Atalji also distinguished himself as an excellent statesman and a world leader, ”said a statement from Lok Sabha, ANI reported.
