NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses Visva Bharati University centennial celebrations in Santiniketan, West Bengal, via video conference. The Governor of West Bengal and the Union Minister of Education are also present at the event.
Founded by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in 1921, Visva-Bharati is also the oldest Central University in the country. In May 1951, Visva-Bharati was declared a Central University and Institution of National Importance by an act of Parliament.
