BJP Credits Prime Minister Modi’s Leadership for Emerging Largest Party in Jammu and Kashmir DDC Polls | India News

NEW DELHI: Rejoicing at the BJP’s emergence as the largest party in J&K DDC polls, Interior Minister Amit Shah and other senior party leaders on Wednesday attributed the party’s performance to a vote for the leadership of the first Minister Narendra Modi.
Shah said the Modi government is working hard to restore grassroots democracy in the state and the DDC polls for the first time in J & K’s history bear witness to the same.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the election results are the victory of hope, democracy and the people of J&K.
“I heartily thank our sisters and brothers at J&K for voting the BJP as the largest party in the District Development Council elections. BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, will continue to work tirelessly towards the prosperity and development of the J&K region, ”Shah tweeted, joining several leaders who shared their satisfaction with completing the DDC polls at UT.
Congratulating the people of the state for a large turnout at the polls, Shah further said: “I applaud the efforts of our security forces and the local administration to carry out these multi-phase elections successfully. This will further boost the morale and confidence of the J&K people in democracy. ”
At a press conference, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the DDC survey results are a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “broader narrative” for the Union Territory and stated that the verdict is a People’s “resounding slap” in the face of extremists, separatists, terrorists and their backers.
Prasad also rejected the claim that the poll results are a victory for the People’s Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), saying that the BJP has emerged as the largest party and has more votes than the total votes of the National Conference. the PDP and Congress together. “The Gupkar alliance was formed because its constituents knew that they could not fight the BJP on their own,” he said.
“This is a victory for India, democracy, hope, development and the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader narrative on Jammu and Kashmir,” Prasad said.
The Union minister said the belief in democracy of the people of the Valley has been strengthened as many pockets of militancy such as Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Sopore in Kashmir saw many more polls in DDC polls than Lok’s elections. Sabha.
“PAGD also lost in the Burhan Wani area, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist whose posts on social media and the subsequent murder in an encounter in 2016 had garnered a lot of publicity.
This is important as these elements made Wani’s assassination an international campaign issue and Pakistan also raised the issue, ”he said.
