Akhada Paris had to send a list of self-styled ‘god-men’ to Uttarakhand CM to exclude them from Mahakumbh
With less than a month to go until next year’s Mahakumbh, Akhada Parishad warned against the entry of false shankaracharyas and self-appointed god-men into Haridwar for the religious mega congregation starting in January.
Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, the supreme body of all Akhadas, has decided to prepare a list of these self-styled false saints and god-men and send it to Uttarakhand’s chief minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat, so that they will not get any recognition or facilities. during the administration of Kumbh to Kumbh Mela.
Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad President Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj, citing the recent demand of Gayatri Triveni Prayagpeeth pontiff Trikal Bhavanta Saraswati to obtain the allotment of land and other facilities for the tenure of Kumbh mela, said that it will not be allowed to no false saints enter the Kumbh area.
Citing the centuries-old Sanatan Dharma tradition of having only four Shankaracharyas worshiped, namely those of Jyotirmath, Badrinath, Dwarka, Jagganath and Puri, Narendra Giri said that the state government should take into account that only four Shankaracharyas from these holy seats should be thus granted – called status, recognition, allocation of land and other facilities during the four months of Mahakumbh.
Warning the Kumbh Mela administration not to be swayed by such false saints, Akhada Parishad general secretary Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj said that they are informing the state government and Mela administration officials about the saints from their level. real and fake.
“We have searched the names of these false saints from all over the country and as we get them we will discuss and make a decision accordingly at our meeting. We have already urged CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and the officer in charge of Kumbh Mela, Deepak Rawat, to ensure that false saints do not have access or privileges during Mahakumbh, ”said Akhada Parishad Secretary General Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj .
The additional Mela official of the Mela administration, Harbeer Singh, said that the allocation of land to Akhadas for Mahakumbh has started and documents are being delivered to the respective Akhadas in this regard and that the whole process is done in consultation with Akhada. Parishad.
In particular, at the beginning of 2018, the Akhada Parishad had published in four phases a list of more than two dozen “false saints” before the Prayagraj Kumbh that was held last year for the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath.
Along the same lines, the Akhada Parishad is compiling the list of false saints before Haridwar Mahakumbh to be handed over to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
“In recent times a large number of incidents of self-proclaimed, false or controversial godmen, pontiffs, Jagadgurus and Shankaracharyas have come to light. Even in 2010, the matter of the false Shankaracharyas of Mahakumbh had come to light. Therefore, it is good that Akhada Parishad addresses this issue before Mahakumbh 2021, ”said Mahamandaleshwar Harichetnanand Maharaj of Shri Panchayati Akhada Bada Udasin.
