You can even approach Rahul Gandhi for Ram temple donation: VHP
Donations will be sought from all Hindus in the country for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and even Congress leader Rahul Gandhi can be contacted for the same, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai said on Tuesday.
Rai, who is also vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), said that the fundraising campaign would start in Makar Sankranti (January 14) next year and continue until Maghi Purnima (February 27).
“Extensive preparations are underway to launch the world’s largest public and non-governmental participatory fundraising campaign. Donations will be taken from all Hindus in the country. In 16,000 villages in the Kashi region, workers will visit every house, ”he said while speaking to reporters in Prayagraj.
When asked if donations will also be taken from the secretary general of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, Rai said: “We have not fixed any border lines and we will go to everyone and the workers might even approach him.”
Showing donation checks, he said followers of other religions have also made donations of Rs 2 lakh, so there were no limitations.
He said that the residents of 16,000 villages in Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Robertsganj, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Amethi, Kaushambi and Sultanpur of Kashi kshetra will be contacted for donations during this campaign.
Donors can purchase coupons worth 10, 100 and 1000 rupees with images of the proposed Ram temple and even government workers can personally offer donations, however, government money will not be taken in this fundraising initiative from any way, Rai said. He added that receipts will be given to those who donate more than 1000 rupees. For the fundraising campaign, teams of three workers each are being formed, he added.

Donations from around the country will be deposited with SBI, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and Bank of Baroda (BoB) within 48 hours of collection.
On the subject of the temple’s construction work, he said engineers were working hard to build a solid foundation in the crumbling sand below to extend the life of the temple.
UP Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath has donated 11 lakh rupees for the construction of the temple of his own account. Spiritual guru Morari Bapu has donated Rs 11 crore, IPS officer Kishore Kunal has donated Rs two crore and Shiv Sena Mumbai has sent Rs one crore.
