Army Chief Gen. MM Naravane Visits Advanced Areas Along LAC in Leh | India News
The army chief was on a day tour to Leh, where he met with the 14th Corps, popularly known as the Corps of Fire and Fury. It also inspected the Rechin La mountain pass, ANI reported. The visit came amid tensions between China and India.
Almost 50,000 soldiers from India army they are deployed in a high state of combat readiness in various mountainous locations in eastern Ladakh in freezing temperatures. China has also deployed an equal number of troops, according to officials.
Sources said that General Naravane arrived in Ladakh at 8:30 am on a one-day visit with the aim of reviewing the situation on the ground in the region which is experiencing a harsh winter.
Upon arrival, the Army Chief of Staff was greeted by Lt. Gen. PGK Menon, the commander of the Leh-based 14th Corps, PTI reported.

The army chief also carried out an on-site inspection of the state of the habitat of the troops on the front defense line in Rechin La, according to the report.
He appreciated the efforts made by the training to make the troops feel comfortable throughout LAC.
Naravane interacted with the troops deployed in the forward areas and called on all ranks to continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm. It also distributed sweets and cakes on Christmas Eve, he added.
