AICC intervenes to quell internal struggles in Kerala Cong after electoral coup | India News


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The high command of Congress has finally decided to intervene as the internal revolt in the Kerala party unity has intensified following the poor performance of the party in the recent elections to the local body. Amid growing demand for a total overhaul in the party structure, AICC Secretary General Tariq Anwar will arrive in state on December 26 to speak with state party officials.
Anwar has convened a meeting of the political affairs committee of the Kerala Pradesh Congressional Committee (KPCC) on December 27. He will also attend a meeting of parliamentarians and party parliamentarians. Apart from this, he has also decided to meet with the leaders of the UDF constituents. The party’s high command is not in favor of a leadership change at KPCC ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for May next year.
The party is known to have asked Anwar to present a report. the high command will make a decision on how to restructure the KPCC after Anwar’s report.
