Amit Shah visits Visva-Bharati and pays tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore | India News


SHANTINIKETAN, WEST BENGALA: The Union Interior Minister Amit Shah visited Visva-Bharati on Sunday and paid tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in Rabindra Bhavan on the University campus.
Shah is scheduled to visit Upasana Griha (house of prayer) and Sangeet Bhavan, where students from the University would introduce Rabindra Sangeet in a cultural program, sources said.
Shah, who is on a two-day visit to West Bengal, paid floral tributes to Gurudev Tagore at Rabindra Bhavan on the university campus, they said.
Amid tight security, the Interior Minister arrived for a visit of more than an hour and a half to the central university.
He is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Vice Chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty and members of the faculty.
