Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury writes to Lok Sabha President, seeks short winter session | India News


NEW DELHI: Congressional Leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury wrote to Lok Sabha Chairman Om Birla on Thursday to convene a short winter session of parliament to discuss pressing issues such as farmers’ protest, Covid vaccine preparation -19 and the confrontation along LAC in eastern Ladakh.
In a letter to the spokesperson, Chowdhury, who is the congressional leader in Lok Sabha, said that a short winter session can be called by taking all precautions against Covid-19.
“I would like to draw your kind attention to a number of very important problems facing the nation in current times. Most notable of all is the ongoing farmer turmoil, the preparation of the Covid-19 vaccine, the economic slowdown, scenario of unemployment and the continuous confrontation on the border between India and China, constant violation of the ceasefire. A deep and transparent discussion is necessary, “he said.
The congressional leader said the session will help the nation understand and appreciate the current problems facing the country.
