Agricultural fires now spread to Canada and Australia | India News

BATHINDA: Farmers’ protests on the Delhi borders against three new agricultural marketing laws are finding Indian support in Canada and Australia.
Two car rallies have been planned in support of the protests in Brampton and Surrey in Canada. Brampton is in the province of Ontario and Surrey in British Columbia. Both cities are home to many Punjabi people.
A small protest is also being organized in Melbourne, Australia.
Punjabis in both Brampton and Surrey had also held small protests against farm laws before.
The car rally in Surrey, dubbed “Punjab Kisan Morcha Rally”, is scheduled for December 2 and will end at the Indian Consulate in Surrey. The Brampton rally will take place on December 5, said Harbans Singh, organizer of the event.
“We want the government to listen to protesting farmers and resolve their concerns. Many Punjabis settled in Canada have land in Punjab and they too are affected by these laws, ”he said, adding that they had also held protests before.
