36,604 New Covid-19 Cases Bring India’s Count to Nearly 9.5 Million

India recorded 36,604 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the past 24 hours, data from the Union Ministry of Health showed at 8 a.m. Wednesday. With this, the national count has reached 9,499,413.

The Union health secretary also reported at the press conference that the top five states that have shown a decrease in active cases over the past month are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.

The top five states showing an increase in active cases during the same period were Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
