NEW DELHI: On the coming Diwali, you can take a “Ramayan Cruise Tour” on the Saryu River in Ayodhya, when Lord Rama’s birthplace celebrates Deepostav. The entire tour on the luxury cruise will cover approximately 15-16 km along the river.
The decision was made at a meeting chaired by maritime transport minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday. “Its aim is to provide a fascinating experience to devotees with a one-of-a-kind spiritual journey as they navigate the famous ghats of the holy river Saryu,” said a ministry spokesman.
The 80-seater air-conditioned cruise ship will have large windows to experience the scenic beauty of the ghats. Sources said that the cruise will be operated by a private company that has been running a similar service on Ganges in Varanasi. The cruise will use green fuel.
“The river has an adequate water level for the operation of the cruise and the flow of water can also be stabilized for this purpose. This will be a great attraction for pilgrims visiting this holy city, ”said an official. Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh to prepare a detailed increase in infrastructure and other plans to meet the 30-40 year requirement taking into account the large number of pilgrims who will visit the city after the completion of Ram. Temple.
The luxury cruise ship will be equipped with all the comforts and facilities and the interiors will be based on the Ramcharitmanas theme. The tour will feature a 45-60 minute film based on Goswami Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas, covering the period from Lord Ram’s birth to his’ Rajyabhishek ‘(coronation), the ministry said. There will be various activities and selfie spots inspired by different episodes of Ramayan. “The tour will be followed by Saryu Aarti, in which all visitors can participate,” said the ministry spokesman.
