Gujarat’s BJP Deputy Rajya Sabha Dies From Covid-19 Complications
Gujarat BJP Deputy Rajya Sabha Abhay Bharadwaj died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 complications. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lamented the disappearance and tweeted:
“The Rajya Sabha deputy from Gujarat, Shri Abhay Bharadwaj Ji was a distinguished lawyer and stood at the forefront of service to society. It is sad that we have lost a brilliant and insightful mind, passionate about national development. Condolences to your family and friends. Om Shanti “.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that Bharadwaj was a “capable leader”.
“Shri Abhay Bharadwaj ji was a nationalist, a legal luminary, a committed public servant, and a capable leader. I am overwhelmed with emotions at the passing of a dear friend. It will be remembered from time immemorial. I pray for the deceased soul. Om Shanti, ”he tweeted.
Bharadwaj was hospitalized at Covid hospital on the campus of the government-run Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in Rajkot. He was in treatment for Covid-19.
Bharadwaj was elected a member of Rajya Sabha on June 20 this year on the BJP ticket. He tested positive for Covid-19 on August 31.
