Maheshwari had reportedly contracted Covid-19 during the municipal corporate elections in October. She was one of two BJP poll workers for the North Kota Municipal Corporation (KNMC), with Churu MLA Rajendra Rathore being the other.

Condoning his passing, Lok Sabha Chairman Om Birla, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota, called it a “personal loss”. He tweeted: “Rajsamand MLA Kiran Maheshwari’s passing is extremely sad. He dedicated his entire life to serving society. His death is a personal loss to me. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to his family. “

“I worked with Kiran ji politically and socially for a long time. She was a strong voice for social problems, especially the rights of women and the underprivileged classes. Kiran Ji, who was always ready to help those in distress, will always be remembered for her courage and clarity, ”Birla posted in a subsequent tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his condolences on his death. Quoting PM Modi, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted: “Grieving over the untimely disappearance of Kiran Maheshwari Ji. Whether as a deputy, MLA or cabinet minister in the Rajasthan government, she made numerous efforts to work towards the advancement of the state and empower the poor and marginalized. Condolences to his family. Om Shanti “.

Before Maheshwari, the Bhilwara MLA Congress, Kailash Trivedi, had passed away due to post-Covid-19 complications in October. Trivedi, who, like Maheshwari, breathed his last at Gurugram, tested positive in September. He had subsequently tested negative but continued to have lung problems, which doctors described as a post-Covid-19 complication.
