GHMC Polls: BJP Knows Only ‘Jumla’ And ‘Hamla’, Says KTR On Last Day Of Campaign
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Acting Chairman KT Rama Rao attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday on the last day of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election campaign saying the BJP only knew two things: ‘ jumla ‘(false promises) and’ hamla ‘(attack).
Speaking at campaign rallies in the constituencies of Goshamahal, Sanath Nagar and Secunderabad, Rao also asked what the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance had done for the city in the past six years.
“Tell me what has NDA done to Hyderabad in the last six years? Who brought the prestigious Apple, Amazon and other major IT companies to Hyderabad? It is the BJP government that canceled the UPA government-sanctioned ITIR project for Hyderabad and acted against the hopes of the youth of Telangana. BJP only knows two things, first is jumla and second is hamla, ”said Rao.
“Union Minister Amit Shah says that ours is the Nizam culture. Mahatma Gandhi, who is from his own Gujarat in 1920, said that Hyderabad culture is Ganga-Jamuna ‘tehzeeb’ and people coexist here peacefully and the city is an example for India, “he added.
Commenting on Shah’s statement that there were no communal riots in the county, the TRS leader reminded the Home Secretary that the communal clashes took place in Delhi during the visit of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, right under the police jurisdiction of the Center, and that the news was published in New York. Times, Washington Post, damaging the image of Delhi.
With the visit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to campaign in the elections, KTR mentioned the recent gang rape in Hathras and asked: “Do you know what will happen in Telangana when crimes against women are committed?”
He further said, “Hyderabad has been peaceful for the past six years. There has not been a single incident of community tension. Today, they just want to divide people in the name of religion. I urge everyone not to support those parties. “
Rao also reacted strongly to the BJP state chairman Bandi Sanjay’s “surgical strike” comment that read: “Make surgical strikes against poverty, corruption and those who commit crimes against women, not Hyderabad.” Today, by a few votes and seats they are ruining the peace and harmony of Hyderabad. ”
He further said that the BJP government was on a sell-off, and if they had the chance, they would sell GHMC as well.
The party chairman continued to highlight the achievement of the presidents, calling Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao a “futuristic leader” to expand the Keshavpuram reservoir that would ensure clean water in Hyderabad for years to come.
He further mentioned the Kalyana Lakshmi, KCR Kit, Annapurna Canteen, Basthi Dawakhana, Ambedkar Overseas scholarships, Jyothirao Phule scholarship, among many others, adding that the TRS government would resume financial assistance of Rs 10,000 from December 7.
GHMC elections are scheduled for December 1, and the city is witnessing a triangular contest between the ruling party in the state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), AIMIM, and BJP, which recently held the Dubbak Assembly seat in the recent surveys completed.
National President JP Nadda recently held a tour of Hyderabad on Friday and criticized opposition parties for calling the upcoming elections “gully ka chunav” (street elections).
