The IG said the incident took place near the Arabraj Metta hills, which are nine kilometers northwest of the Chitagufa police station and six kilometers west of the Burkapal base camp.
“The eight wounded were flown to Raipur at around 12:45 pm and were admitted to a hospital. On Sunday morning, a deputy commander, Nitin Bhalerao, died in the hospital, suffering serious injuries, ”said the IG.
Commander’s assistant Nitin Bhalerao succumbed to his injuries and expired at 3:30 am on Sunday in Raipur, according to IG Suderaj P. Bhalerao belonged to Nasik in Maharashtra.
Police said seven others are out of danger.
