Former Minister Pawan Bansal Appointed Congressional Treasurer as Interim Measure | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress Speaker Sonia Gandhi appointed Pawan Kumar Bansal party treasurer following the disappearance of senior leader Ahmed Patel, a statement said Saturday.
Bansal, a former Union minister, is the All India Congressional Committee (AICC) in charge of the administration. In addition to his duties, he will hold the post as an interim measure, he said.
“The president of Congress has assigned the additional responsibility of treasurer of AICC to Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, the administration in charge, as an interim measure to take over the functions of treasurer with immediate effect,” said a statement from the secretary general of Organization of AICC, KC Venugopal.
Patel died on November 25.
